The Firebird

After looking into the two Russian based children stories, The Tin Soldier by Noel Grieg and The Firebird by Neil Duffield we created an inspired devised performance piece for children from the local schools aged 6-8. We focused on the trials of friendship and between father and son based loosely on The Firebird. With a budget of £450 and a team of 15 we created a resourced, dramatic performance free for young people. My main roles to play in this piece was collaborative design, LX and sound. The aim of this project was to introduce young audiences to theatre in new interesting ways.

Southwell Workhouse Heritage

Together with the National Trust Volunteers at Southwell Workhouse this project brings lost stories back to life.

With Menta Health as the overriding theme this project is inspired by the documented stories of those that worked and lived at the workhouse. Six NTU studends create 6 short performances that led the audience around the space.

My own performance inspired by Mary Trynor explored the difficulties of growing up with learning difficults and living with the words people lable you as.

Special thanks to Karen for being a wonderful volunteer and helping to create a emotional performance.
