Craft Mondays on my Theatre Design course are taking on the basics of Costume making!

Basics of the sewing and overlocker machines and how to be safe while working with and around them. Below shows some of the basic stitches, seams and pleats learnt.

We were tasked to make a simple skirt using different fabrics to see we could see how they fall differently.

We also touched on how to talk and work with costume makers, what information they need (like measurements and fabric) and how they can help with the design. Then we have had some fun playing with the skirts.
